This animation-archive hybrid was commissioned as a Waterbear original in 2022 to raise awareness about the environmental impacts of deep sea mining. Waterbear came to Mister Tibbs for help with a story that would drive awareness and action. They had access to deep sea archive footage but needed to build a narrative around it that would engage the audience.

The result is “Extract. Destroy. Repeat” which follows new employee Stan on his first day at work with the Happy Metals Company, a mining conglomerate with a surf-bro CEO in a dystopic a near future… 2023.
